Rajkot and Vadodara, which experienced their coldest nights on Wednesday, recorded 11.3°C and 11.8°C respectively, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data.
During the daytime, sunshine was comforting but chill started settling in by evening at most places.

"The minimum temperatures were above normal in parts of North Gujarat, below normal in Saurashtra-Kutch, and near normal across the rest of the state," the IMD bulletin stated.
The forecast stated that easterly to southeasterly winds are blowing over Gujarat, indicating relatively warmer air from the sea which may slightly reduce the night-time cold in the coming days, especially in coastal areas.
